Description
A Pinot noir from our best site, Ahrweiler Rosenthal
A very low yield and very ripe, healthy grapes were required for this wine.
Vinification method: Classic fermentation and in a roll fermenter (900 litre oak barrel),
matured 20 months in new barriques.
Dry, smoky, earthy-vegetal, minty and fatty bouquet of black rather than red berries, with
dried flower, tobacco and mineral notes. Clear, tight-knit, juicy, acidic fruit, rather reserved,
slightly smoky and fatty, woody notes, a little sandy tannin, long finish, herby, spicy touches,
clear elderberry and sloe in the background, has attack and hold, very good, dry finish.
Dry German Qualitätswein
Matured 2 years in barrique
